Format a USB drive for your PS5 on a PC

  1. Connect the USB drive you want to format to your PC.
  2. Open File Explorer.

  3. Go to This PC.

  4. Right-click on the USB drive.
  5. Click Format.

  6. At File system, select exFAT.
    Select exFAT file system
  7. Click Start.

  8. WARNING: Formatting will erase ALL data on the USB drive. To format the drive, click OK.

  9. Windows will now format your USB flash drive or external hard drive. When it's done formatting, you click OK.

  10. Click Close.

You can now copy your files to your USB drive.
